Abdullah Dhiaa Al-Deen is a documentary photographer whose work centers on documenting social issues and daily life in Iraq. He has worked on themes including the deterioration of Baghdad’s cityscape, the environmental impact of the problems plaguing the electricity grid in Iraq, religious ceremonies and rituals in Karbala, and the restoration of archeological sites in Babil, to name a few. Abdullah has photographed for National Geographic, The New York Times, Reuters, and Libération, among others. He is a curator at @everydayiraq, and his work was showcased at Gulf Photo Plus’s show “All What I Want is Life”, and their “For The Love of Beirut” project.
